Katie and James were married back in June at the gorgeous Threave Gardens in Castle Douglas.  It was a beautiful start to the day when I met up with Katie at her family home in Dumfries, we even managed to say hello to Katie’s horse in her wedding dress which I know will mean the world to her as he’s a big part of her life 🙂 As I arrived at Threave Gardens to quickly catch up with James before Katie’s arrival I was delighted to see the setting for their outdoor ceremony, a beautiful little nook nestled amongst the  trees in the garden, the perfect place for a private ceremony in the public gardens.  Katie beamed as she walked towards James who’s smile was as wide as hers 🙂 such a beautiful sight.  Despite the glorious weather, true to form the heavens opened during the ceremony but everyone trooped on during the shower which only served to make the ceremony even more memorable 🙂
Katie and James had some beautiful handmade table names inspired by their love of the outdoors they are replicas of the forestry signage of their favourite haunts 🙂 Â The table plan was so good I had to double take I thought it was real! The handmade cake was just and a fantastic too with Katie and James on their many adventures. Â It’s sooo nice when family and friends go to so much effort to make their wedding day unique and personal.
To top of a fantastic day I took Katie and James out during the golden hour, and what a golden hour it was!! the light was just magical particularly shining through the trees lining the road. Â The very last shots were taken on Film on my vintage Canon AE-1 the colours are just beautiful.
Congratulations Katie and James, it really was a lovely day, I don’t think either of you stopped smiling, it was truly heartwarming and I hope you continue to smile together like that for many years to come xxx
Many thanks to Fiona from Fiona Watson Photography  for her superb assistance on the day and for the staff at Threave Estate for making us feel so welcome.
