Yes, this is New York City.. let me say it again NEW YORK CITY!! This was pretty much my reaction when Sarah popped over to my house for a chat and asked if I would photograph her wedding. Â Every once in a while something comes along that completely changes everything, this certainly was one of those life changing experiences in every sense of the word and I’m forever grateful to Sarah and Ewan for asking me to photograph their New York Wedding 🙂
I was lucky enough to be in NYC for a week and blogged about my adventures here.  I had such a brilliant time as you might imagine, and so happy I decided to go on my own, my initial worries about filling my days solo were immediately whisked away the moment I ventured out, ahhhh I miss New York, when can I go again??? I arrived a couple of days before the wedding, which gave me enough time to get my bearings and settle in.  We had a little photoshoot the day before at Top of the Rock, which was great fun, and a good way for Sarah and Ewan to get used to being photographed in front of lots of people!
Sarah and Ewan live here in Scotland but decided to indulge their love of NYC by flying over to get married there, and so glad they did! They were married in Central Park at the Cop Cot, it was a beautiful ceremony, nice and intimate and a lovely place for the family photos.  The ceremony was a little later in the day so the light fell quickly but we still got some lovely shots over by the East River before heading over to Katz Delicatessen for their evening reception.  Sarah and Ewan chose this iconic restaurant for their wedding meal after watching Man v Food, although I’m sure the fact it was in a rather famous scene from When Harry Met Sally clinched the deal 😉 The food, as you might imagine was pretty awesome and a rather nice alternative to usual wedding meal! The staff and Katz were so lovely and accommodating, the whole reception had a really warm feel to it.  We finished off the day by heading over to Times Square for their first dance, which was amazing! Sarah and Ewan were so brave dancing in front of all those people, and drew quite a crowd!
I don’t want to talk too much as I’m sure I could go on and on about what a fab time was had by all, so I think I’ll let the images do the talking. Â I’ve popped in the slideshow below which is definitely worth a watch, and almost never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
Thank you sooooooo much Sarah and Ewan for entrusting me with your wedding photography and flying me across to the other side of the world to join you on your New York Adventure.  Much, much love, Zoë x
