Weather, we love to worry about it, talk about it and often moan. If you’re having a wedding at the Cruin by Loch Lomond you’re probably imagining a beautiful, glorious summers day. Mainly to take advantage of the stunning views over Loch Lomond! And hang out with your family and friends outside. It’s certainly what Laura and Chris imagined for their wedding day. The weather, as it happens wasn’t on our side but I’ll let you into a secret. Actually what I look forward to is a bit of adverse weather. It’s a challenge and creates some atmosphere and if you get a couple as awesome as these two, willing to brave the elements, you get some awesome unique pictures.
A family focussed wedding at the Cruin, Loch Lomond
Laura and Chris were married in their home town of Saltcoats in Ayrshire. Then celebrated afterwards with a trip up north for their wedding at The Cruin on the banks of Loch Lomond. Their two beautiful girls looked so cute on the day in their gorgeous dresses from Mamas and Papas teamed with denim jackets and little purple Dr Martens and Converse!
For Laura and Chris’s couple shots we had a short session on Saltcoats Beach after the Ceremony. Followed by a few in some sheltered areas around the Cruin. However my favourites are the shots later on the jetty, Laura and Chris braving the high winds whipping up over the Loch but boy was it worth it!
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National park is such a beautiful area, and so close to me which makes the trip home a short one 🙂 I live only 20min from the east side of Loch Lomond and regularly photograph adventures and elopements there as well as weddings. Laura and Chris, thank you both so much for entrusting me with your wedding photography, Sam and I had such an awesome time hanging out with you both and feel incredibly privileged to have spent your wedding day with you.
Huge thanks also goes to my amazing buddy Euan for recommending us. Euan and his wife cat are good friends of ours and both amazing fellow wedding fellows. Euan photographed my brother’s wedding in Portugal. And Cat and I have worked together numerous times, and of course she was the makeup artist for my own wedding. I photographed their awesome wedding at nearby Knockraich Farm in Fintry [you can view Cat & Euan’s incredible Wedding here].
