No-one was more surprised than I when I received an email through from Aoibhlinn a week before their wedding, asking if I would be free, to be honest I was unsure if it was a genuine request or not but after a few emails back and forth I was on my way down to Willowbeck Lodge to meet Aoibhlinn and Hisham on their Wedding day 🙂
The moment I met Aoibhlinn I knew this was going to be something very special. Â I was greeted like an old friend with a very warm hug and a huge smile in her little room at Willowbeck with her equally lovely sister and bridesmaid. Â As Aoibhlinn slipped on her beautiful dress, made for her in Dubai where she lives, she beamed with that look you only get from a totally loved up excited bride to be. Â I then crossed back over the Scottish border to meet up with a very dapper looking Hisham at Gretna Green registry office, where I had another warm welcome and lots of beaming smiles.
The ceremony, though simple and formal by most standards was one of the most intimate, warm, emotional ceremonies I’ve even had the pleasure to attend. For the sake of sounding mushy the love between these two just shone through, there for all to see, it was so amazingly moving I still get butterflies thinking about it. Â What an absolute immense pleasure it was to witness through the camera.
After the ceremony we nipped back to Willowbeck where they were staying for some drinks before dinner to take a few snaps. Â I had the best time with Aoibhlinn’s family and made to feel very welcome, I left with a picnic Aoibhlinn’s sister prepared for me for my journey home and a big smile.
This, is what it’s all about.. Â when you strip it all back there are two people in love, and to me, nothing says it more than this wedding.
Thank you soooooo much to Aoibhlinn and Hisham for being so wonderful, I’m so thrilled that you booked with me, it was such a pleasure to be there on your wedding day.
Lots of Love,
Zoë x
