Rustic farmhouse tipi wedding at the Bride’s family home

Alice and Ben planned a rustic farmhouse tipi wedding at Bride Alice’s family home in the Scottish Borders. Complete with garden ceremony. The tipis from PapaKata looked magnificent on the lawn in front of the beautiful home, and provided the perfect setting for their elegant rustic wedding.

Humanist garden Ceremony

Humanist celebrant Jane Keir held a beautiful ceremony in the stunning garden complete with floral arch. The garden was in full bloom with gorgeous summer flowers, providing a stunning backdrop, no need for any decor or embellishments!

Elegant bridal meets rustic farm

Imagine walking through your family farm, as you’ve always done but this time it’s your wedding day and your wearing the most stunning designer bridal dress! Alice wore a beautiful, elegant Laure de Sagazan wedding dress teamed with dusty pink velvet shoes. I love the images of her walking through the farm, the perfect contradiction between the working farm and elegant designer dress worn with such grace!

Rustic styled tipis made to party

The tipis were dressed with beautiful florals and foliage by Wildflower and Willow. Along with a big flower ball hung from the centre of the tipi, adding a stunning focal point. Rustic yet elegant with simple details. Alice and Ben planned a drinking game for the entire wedding to kick off the party. It has to be the first time I’ve ever seen an entire wedding play the drinking game “Roxanne”! If you don’t know what it is, ask google, then imagine an entire wedding doing it, hilarious. The evening then kicked off with with Killer City Sound bringing the party into the night.

I do have a particular soft spot for home weddings. There is just something so wonderful about getting married at your family home. We’re so lucky here in Scotland that you can have a legal ceremony at home, or anywhere you like really for that matter. Having the freedom to choose where you get married means you can plan something truly unique and personal.
