So much love for this Castle Lachlan Wedding. Iona and Graeme hired this spectacular historical building for their wedding. This stunning white 18th Century baronial mansion sits nestled in the woodland with stunning Argyll views towards the Loch. The castle is actually named ‘New Castle Lachlan’, built to replace ‘Old Castle Lachlan’ on the shores of Loch Fyne. We explored in shoes later in the evening during golden hour for some beautiful sunset portraits.

The rooms at Castle Lachlan
The castle is stunning inside and out. The interior is traditional but with a modern feel and plenty of beautiful historic features, paintings and plenty of character. The house sleeps 13 and comes complete with formal drawing room, large dining room, kitchen with traditional AGA, tennis court and access to the 1500 acre estate. Plenty of rooms to get ready in, and for a few of your friends and family to stay for a few days.
Iona chose to get ready in the drawing room which had plenty of space and light from the windows, perfect for getting her hair and makeup done by Anne-Marie and Julie from AMM.

For their Castle Lachlan wedding ceremony the couple opted to use the lawn in front of the Castle. The views looking over the fields towards the loch are breathtaking, especially with the stunning castle in the background. Although they got married in May and technically spring, it was a very hot day and incredibly bright sunshine, very unlike Scotland! Humanist celebrant Jane Mcfie performed a beautiful, memorable ceremony for them and was incredibly emotional.

The celebrations continued on the lawn for their wedding reception. The couple hired a marquee that sat tucked away to the side of the Castle. They decorated the inside with branches from the estate for a beautiful woodland feel and minimal spring details to keep things simple and elegant.

Golden hour portraits
After dinner and speeches we snuck out to grab some golden hour portraits down by the shore. [click here to read more about how to fit in golden hour with your weddding day timeline]. The evening portraits by the water were really important to Iona and Graeme so they allocated plenty of time to make this happen.

It was an incredible day, in a a beautiful and enchanting location. Scroll down to see more of Iona and Graeme’s Castle Lachlan Wedding along with highlight video. Yes we can do video too! this was one of our earlier videos, [click here to to view more from our video portfolio].
