The Byre at Inchyra holds so many memories for me. I photographed one of their first weddings there back in 2014, back then barn wedding venues weren’t as commonplace as they are now. But this beautiful venue can still hold its own against the competition. The refined rustic charm makes for a relaxed barn wedding with style and gives you some room to add your own personalised touches. I’ve returned many times over the years and always love coming back.
Chinese Tea Ceremony and Wedding in the walled garden
Lewis and Eli’s amazing wedding was such a joy to photograph. They live abroad but chose to get married in here in Scotland, Lewis’s home country. Their Chinese tea ceremony led by Eli’s mum was the perfect nod to Eli’s heritage. They had their tea ceremony in the morning with close family and friends and their larger wedding ceremony in the afternoon in the stunning walled garden. The tea ceremony was wonderful and really touching way to start the day, ahead of the emotional ceremony in the garden.

A pipe band played as they walked down the tree lined aisle with their mums by their side. Mum Elaine created a beautiful floral arch, creating a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and perfectly complimented the surrounding foliage. It was an incredibly emotional ceremony, so heartfelt and genuine.

Wedding reception
The drinks reception was held on the lawn in front of the main house. Scottish piano vocal duo Ginny & The Tonic played (and were amazing!) whilst the guests sipped champagne and sampled delights by caterers Ballintaggart. Afterwards they headed over to the byre for their meal, some speeches and the all important ceilidh. The Byre was looking utterly spectacular, Lewis’s Mum Elaine of Blooms Flowers went all out with the flowers and decor, everything looked so beautiful! I know she worked extra hard on this and it showed. We listened to some beautiful emotional words from Lewis, Eli and Lewis’s Dad (proud father) during the speeches before Ballintaggart served up their sumptuous feast. Ginny & The Tonic played on during the meal and more than warmed up the crowd for Celtic Rock/Dance band BAHOOKIE who know how to bring the party!
There was SO much love that shone through for Lewis and Eli from their family and friends. It was an absolute honour to be there. Lewis & Eli, Congratulations!! and thank you so much for asking us to photograph your day, we enjoyed every minute.
