Bianca and Gylen love the outdoors, so it was important to them to get married amidst beautiful landscape and bring some of the outdoors inside by having a woodland themed wedding. They decorated the beautiful ballroom at Achnagairn Castle together with their friends and family with flowers and foliage.
Achnagairn provides such a beautiful setting for a wedding. Not only is the landscape stunning and plenty of beautiful spots for portraits but the Castle itself along with it’s ballroom is stunning, full of beautiful little spots and interesting pools of light. I especially enjoyed our walk into the woodlands at twilight, the last gasps of light at the end of the day are my absolute favourite, the way the light dances with the shadows seems so romantic to me, and perfect for the last portraits of the day.
Bianca looked simply stunning in her Modeca ball gown from Ann Priscilla teamed with her beautiful bouquet by Amanda Call. Gylen worked together with Andrew Brookes to design his kilt jacket and waistcoat. Gylen’s grandfather wore a kilt every day of his life (how awesome is that!) and used the last roll of tartan that his grandfather had made just before he died to have a new kilt made for the wedding. The bridesmaids looked super elegant in their Jenny Yoo dresses from BHLDN along with the beautiful little flower girl who wore a 30’s style dress from Monsoon.
For their ceremony Bianca and Gylen were lucky enough to have a friend who is a Minister who did such an incredible job, with a great mix of traditional ceremony combined with personal stories and handfasting. Their friend Hilgrove Kenrick played piano along with his daughter Evelyn who sang during the signing of the register, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
The table settings looked so beautiful in the Grand Hall at Achnagairn. Bianca styled them along with her friends and family with beautiful little touches such as the little bottles of gin as favours, birch candle holders and woodland inspired flowers and foliage.
The evening kicked off with Rhythm and Reel but continued with Gylen’s band Easy Tiger who did a special set, just for Bianca including some of their favourite Bruce Springsteen songs, and totally brought the house down.
Sam and I had THE best time with these two and loved every minute of this beautiful wedding. Gylen is a friend of mine and we wanted to do something special for them for their wedding day, so Sam and I sneaked in a few video clips on the day, take a peek below of what we captured!
