The Scottish Isle of Tiree is a beautiful Island, location in the far west of the Inner Hebrides.  I’m lucky enough to have photographed a few weddings on the island most recently Caroline and Ross & Kathleen and Chay.  It’s a fairly small Island, only around 12 miles long and 3 miles wide but jam packed full of stunning beaches, some fairly tranquil with their white sand and turquoise sea, some more rugged with dark rocks and wild ocean waves.
The weddings there are beautiful, but as often is the case you rarely get the creative freedom to explore the full potential of a location within the timings of a wedding day. Â This is where the styled shoot comes it, it gives us a chance to spread our wings, move outside the box and hopefully create something to inspire.
Together with Lindsey from Mack Photography we set about creating a something that would showcase the rugged, harsh yet beautiful landscape of Tiree you can view our ideas here on Pinterest.  We wanted to follow a narrative and chose the beautiful lyrics from Song to the Siren as our foundation.  The lyrics are somber and heartfelt but we reflected moody and emotive feel we were going for.
Planning a shoot like this isn’t easy and we’re proud and thankful to have worked with some incredible suppliers on this shoot, they all worked their socks off to make this work and deserve the upmost credit, you’ll find their links at the bottom of the post. You can read more over at Boho Wedding Blog who featured the shoot, and for more about the creative floral jewellery from Planet Flowers click here.
The video below is THEE most important part of the shoot for us, and well worth a look for the stunning music alone. Incredibly talented Kate Reid recorded a beautiful version of Song to the Siren for the video, we’re so incredibly lucky to have had the chance to collaborate with such talent and proud to share this with you.
HUGE thank you to all involved for your incredible input and to my beautiful friend Cat for braving the elements, also special thanks to Sarah for entrusting me with her underwater camera.
